For the second week in a row, the Tuesday Nigh Shootout Series was rescheduled to Thursday due to inclement weather on Tuesday. The rescheduled event gave Tim Mallicoat Jr. his first Street Car Shootout win of the year in his ’68 Camaro. Joining Mallicoat Jr. in victory lane was Andy Rhodes (Super Truck), Aaron Niggli (Sport Tuner), Derek Allen (HS), and Rudy Sanzottera (Big St. Charles Motorsports QSBS).

Daryl Jauernig’s Mustang was at the top of the qualifying sheet in his small block powered, nitrous assisted Mustang with an 8.60-second elapsed time. In first round Jauernig ran into problems though and was unable to fire the car. Ray Arthur took a single run in his “Suspicion” Camaro. Arthur ran a 9.24 second pass, but broke something on his famous Camaro and that would be his last pass of the evening. Mallicoat Jr. lined up against Tom Bantle’s black ’92 Mustang in the semi final match up. Bantle turned on the red light, but it likely would not have made a difference. Mallicoat’s 8.72 was much stronger than the 11.14 of Bantle.
Eric Sanzottera was again out of town for this week’s action and again brother Rudy Sanzottera again stepped up to competition in the Big St. Charles Motorsports QSBS. Ed Biggs again topped the qualifying sheet with a 7.93 second pass. Biggs lined up against John Chant in the first round of action. Chant was first off of the line and Biggs struggled down track. Chant collected the win with a career best 8.85 second pass. Rudy Sanzottera took out Gabe Heimbach in the first round of action. Heimbach’s 8.84 second ET was not enough to take out the 8.01 of Sanzottera.

In the final round of action it was Sanzottera and John Chant. Sanzottera was first off of the line and continued to pull away down track to an 8.26 second pass at 185 mph.
High School Eliminator saw a matchup of Waterloo HS and Belleville West HS in the final round. Representing Waterloo was Derek Allen and his opponent was former Jr. Dragster standout, Cheyenne Bittle. Bittle turned on the red light in the final round while Allen’s now primered Gator Gumbo ’84 Oldsmobile Cutlass sailed to the win with a 12.52 second run at 106 mph.
Rhodes took out Jimmy Price in the Super Truck showdown. The ’82 S-10 of Rhodes ran a 10.66 against Price’s El Camino. Niggli’s ’06 Cobalt took the win over the ’02 Maxima of Dylan Seger. Niggli collected the win by about half of a second with a 14.96 second pass.
